Variable Speed Blowers
What is a variable speed blower? A variable speed blower adjusts the air flow from your HVAC system based on actual demand; instead of “all on” or “all off”. Heating and air systems are built for the hottest day of the year and the coldest night of the year. Other than those times, the system is typically oversized. A variable speed blower speeds up and down as needed, typically operating between 30% and 80% power. The end result is this;
- A consistently more comfortable home
- Equipment that lasts longer – variable speed blowers last longer than the typical constant speed motor, and Insight Homes include a 10 year parts and labor warranty on all HVAC equipment.
- Reduced energy bills – on average, a variable
speed blower…
- Uses less energy than a typical light bulb.
- Uses less energy than a system that continuously turns off and on.
By Insight Homes including a variable speed blower, air is continuously circulating so the temperature in your home is kept at more constant level. Another example for you; let’s say your guest bedroom is in the back of your house. When the sun is streaming in your guest bedroom’s window, that room is warm; meanwhile the living room is in the front of the house where there is very little sun, so that room is always cooler. By air continuously circulating this air through your ductwork – the different areas or “zones” in your home are kept at a more consistent temperature throughout.
