Solid Hardwood Flooring in Foyer and                Formal Dining Room

Insight Homes include solid hardwood flooring (not laminate, solid wood) in our foyers and formal dining rooms*.   The question we are asked most is “Why do you offer hardwood?  Why not bamboo?”  Yes, bamboo can be produced very quickly, but when was the last time you drove by a bamboo farm?  It does grow rapidly, but it grows rapidly in China.  Unfortunately, the rules for manufacturing overseas are not as stringent as those in the US.  This means the condition of the factories, the chemicals used, and the chemical run off could quite possibly be damaging to our planet.  In addition, imagine all of the fuel that is used to bring the floors over by boat, plane, or truck?  Insight offers hardwood flooring that is produced regionally, and purchase from a manufacturer that replants whenever trees are harvested – making this a viable renewable resource for our homeowners.
