Fresh Air Make-up System

Because an Insight Home is so well insulated, we include fresh air make up systems in all of our homes.  The typical home does not have a need for this system, because there is already so much air infiltration occurring through the walls, around the windows and doors, around electrical outlets and switches, and at the joints of interior and exterior walls.  The problem with unconditioned air that infiltrates from the outside is that it’s possibly dirty, probably humid, and completely unconditioned.  Also, you cannot control the amount of air that is brought in to your home.  On a windy day, it is possible your home will have way too much air infiltration, which can result in higher energy costs to you.  On a still day, the air in your home can then become stagnant.  With an Insight Home, our system continually pulls in fresh air that is filtered, dehumidified, and conditioned and directs that air through the HVAC duct work.  The conditioned air is then spread evenly throughout your home.  The end result is a healthier and consistently comfortable home environment.
