French Drains based on EEBA Guidelines

Since Insight Homes include sidewalks with each of our homes, we believe it’s important to also include French drains.  When it rains, and rainwater runs through and out from the gutters, the sidewalk will act like a dam and water can collect around the home’s foundation.  Insight Homes are built with poured concrete walls, and we apply a moisture barrier to our foundations.  Even with doing this, we still want to keep water away from the homes foundation because we know that it’s better to keep your foundation dry.  Here is how it works.  The gutter is run along the roof and down the front house.  Anywhere there is sidewalk, the piping is then buried underneath the sidewalk, and the water is pulled away from the house and released into the yard, away from your foundation.
