Engineered Flooring System
The typical builder uses dimensional lumber (I.E. 2 x 10, 2 x 12, etc.) when designing their flooring system. The problem with this is there is not fifteen, thirty, or fifty foot long boards available, so the boards must be seamed together. The more seams, the more chances there are for squeaks and movement. Insight Homes are built using truss joists. A truss joist, also called “silent floor”, is an I-beam made from engineered wood. These joists are available in up to 50 foot lengths. The net effect is a flooring system that is stronger, straighter, and quieter.
